WHO I AM
I'm Jess Black, founder of Amatista Toro Solutions. I've spent 10+ years working across some genuinely different worlds. From influencer marketing platforms and commercial real estate apps to Cartoon Network, RaceTrac, and everything in between. Kids entertainment, QSR, convenience retail, toys, games, digital experiences. The industries changed. The work didn't: figure out what the business actually needs, build the thing, and make sure it holds up.
WHAT I ACTUALLY DO
My background spans both sides of the table. Consulting strategy for implementations and hands-on execution. I've built email journeys, managed loyalty platforms, redone entire websites over a weekend when an agency moved too slow, and led project and program management for complex cross-functional work. I know the platforms because I've been in them. I know the strategy because I've thought it through from every angle.
HOW I’M WIRED
Good work isn't something I turn on for clients. It's just how I operate. I'm the kind of person who can't leave a question unanswered. Give me a problem and I'll go down every rabbit hole I need to go down to bring you real options, real tradeoffs, and a clear recommendation. I don't always have the answer immediately. But I will find it.
HOW I WORK WITH CLIENTS
I think of myself as a strong number one. In the Star Trek sense. I'm not here to be the captain. I'm here to support the captain, challenge decisions when something feels off, offer alternatives when there's a better path, and execute well on whatever we decide together. The goal is always to deliver something that meets your objectives today and scales with you tomorrow.
Why Amatista Toro
The name is personal. Amatista is Spanish for amethyst. My favorite color and stone which is associated with clarity of thought and calm confidence. Toro is Spanish for bull. A nod to my Taurus identity and the value I hold most: persistence. The bull doesn't stop. It moves forward with purpose regardless of what's in the way. Solutions is the promise. Not just strategy, not just ideas. Working solutions that are built, delivered, and proven.
I started Amatista Toro Solutions because I wanted to do good work for people who genuinely appreciate it. On my terms, with full ownership of the outcome. No layers, no handoffs, no diluted results. Just honest work, done well, for clients who value it.
